21 June 2007 - Clubhouse Fire, Next Season, Pre Season and Committee Meeting

Clubhouse Fire

Club has been stripped out and now to be deep cleaned – hopefully in next few days.
Graham Bruce and Kenny Boyter due in to commence drawings and suggested re-fit for consideration by members.
Tenders to be invited for re-fit with a closing date toward end July.

Next Season

Fixtures have been released
We have accepted Preston Lodge 10s on 4 August
Captaincy – election procedure being put in place
Coaches – both invited to continue and no reason to expect otherwise
Iain Goodall returns Thursday

Pre Season

Pre season training will commence Tuesday 3 July at 6:45pm at the club. Thereafter:

Thursdays 6:45pm
Saturdays 1pm (time subject to change, to suit players/coaches etc)
Tuesdays 6:45pm

We will try and change the venue like we have done in previous years. We will be taking Porty RFC on the road again during pre season, so expect some beach training, some hills and some creative, fun training, during the long hard summer months.

We hope to see you all there. Although the club itself will be out of action, the training facilities are still there, so there should be no excuses. The fire in the club has only made our club stronger, and there is a real feeling of support and optimism amongst the players, so lets get together, train hard and have one another truly successful year.

We will also be looking to select the Captain during pre season training, at which all players will get their chance to nominate for their captain for the 2007/08 campaign. More news to follow on that soon.
